Guided tours to see the Santiago Bernabéu stadium
The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, or New Chamartín Stadium, is the great temple of Real Madrid, of the most successful football clubs of all time. Therefore, it must not be surprising that it is also one of the largest stadiums in Europe, capable of holding more than 80,000 people.
The stadium dates back to the year 1947, although since then it has been expanded and renovated in order to adapt to the changing times and the necessary safety standards. The last such intervention took place between 1999 and 2000, when its installations were extensively modernized so that it would be able to finally enter the UEFA’s select group of “elite stadiums”.
Bernabeu Stadium opens its doors every day of the year except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. This way it can be visited not only when games are celebrated. It is accessible on any day for guided tours through its interior. This visit include various attractions.
The tour provides an overview of the stadium, but the VIP boxes can also be visited. Likewise, you can step out onto the turf grass and descend through the tunnel just like the players themselves. And you can even visit the locker room of the White Stars in order to see what the facilities look like.
After that, the tour heads toward the trophies room, where the memories of some of the greatest players, who form part of the history of this club, from the great Alfredo Di Stefano to the current Cristiano Ronaldo, are displayed. But overall, the enormous history of the White Team can be seen. Displayed there are its European Cups, Spanish League trophies, the Copa del Rey, the UEFA Cup, etc. Countless trophies, large and small, are the pride of the club.
